Scenario
The Jackal is an elusive killer who earns his living by killing for the highest payment
Soon he meets a worthy opponent in the face of a persistent British intelligence officer, who tracks him down in an exciting cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The action of the novel "Day of the Jackal" takes place in 1963 and concerns the attempt on the then president of France, Charles de Gaulle.
Remake of the film "Day of the Jackal" (1973)
The action of the series is transferred to the modern era. Eddie Redmayne excels in Day of the Jackal, bringing depth and intensity to his role, keeping the audience on edge with every move.
However, Lashana Lynch seems a little out of place for her role here
His acting elevates the story, adding layers of intrigue that make him a compelling protagonist. Despite her talent, her acting doesn't quite match the nuances of Redmayne's message, sometimes disrupting the flow and immersion.
A stronger main character could lift him up
You wonder about the casting: Could a second combination of actors have made the series an instant classic? A stronger balance between the main characters could have given the epic impact this story deserves.
