Abrams' "Lost" had an almost completely different cast

Scenario

Survivors of a plane crash are forced to work together to survive on a seemingly deserted tropical island... J.J. See which A-listers lost out on one of the most popular TV shows of all time.

However, when Koreans get married, the wife never takes her husband's last name

Sawyer's character was originally supposed to be an older, wily city crook from Buffalo, NY. But when Josh Holloway forgot a line during auditions and later kicked a chair and cursed loudly in frustration, the writers liked the playfulness he brought to Sawyer's character and decided to write Sawyer as a Southern, darker drifter. Jin and Sun are married and share the last name "Kwon," which becomes a major plot point in the final season.

It's amazing how well the show has aged

When you see it all over again, some of the stories make a lot more sense. I even think the ending makes a lot more sense now. This is something I was completely blind to when I first saw Lost.

It's an amazing show that paved the way for the wonderful landscape of high-quality TV series that we enjoy today
