Scenario

Sonic, Knuckles and Tails face off again against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers beyond anything they've faced before. With their abilities surpassed, Team Sonic must forge an unlikely alliance. The creators of the previous films cited Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2001) and Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) as inspiration for one game. The film was also inspired by narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated television series Sonic the Hedgehog (1993).
